I don't like the Ubuntu One requirement any more than you do and I think it's a broken and insulting design decision. But installing click apps from plain storage is perfectly easy and possible and you've already been told how to do so here on this list.

So instead of just complaining, maybe you can contribute to development. If you can't code, then constructive comments are much more useful than arguing that you don't like the status quo and you wish it were different.

iOS products are closed-garden because you can only install from the store and nowhere else. Android and Ubuntu have a convenient store but do not restrict you from installing anything you like. This respect for your own agency is what sets them apart from Apple's products.
