Landing team 10.03.14

Hey,

As a birthday present +1 day for some, we now finally have a promoted image. \o/ #226 is now the latest and best Touch image we ever had, featuring for the first time android 4.4 for dealing with hardware.

Dogfooding was positive and test results were stable with the known quirks. Now, full speed on getting Qt 5.2 ready before landing! This one should fix random crashers that can happen on the current images, bring a lot of performance improvements and new layout shininess for application developers. Last miles guys!

Meanwhile, we are back to green and resume landing as usual. We try to unblock big stacks landing even if they are supposedly locked by Qt 5.2 for an ABI rebuild, just to get things moving (even if that means more work on our side). So, stay tune to see the new Mir soon in!

On the images themselves, here is what happened during the week-end:
#227:
- the image size is 30Mb smaller thanks to excellent work by (good bye gtk2, a number of codecs, some x11 binding…) - the fix that Oliver promoted on this mailing list to avoid getting mtp disconnections - still some mediascanner 2.0 preparation for the switch to new scope infrastructure
- new libcolumbus for a new online search mode

#228:
- no change from previous image

#229:
- new clock app, unfortunately, we still have one AP test failing, but progress on the alarm front.

We have one test failing on mako but not other devices (http://ci.ubuntu.com/smokeng/trusty/touch/mako/229:20140310:20140304/7070/ubuntu_clock_app/). Nicholas is looking at that one. Nicholas also is going to help landing the weather-app usptream fixes that occured during the week-end. This shoud help getting weather-app in a better shape.

Dogfooding on #229 is proceeding as we speak, results tomorrow morning (tests results are comparable to previous)

Enjoy #226!
Didier
