Message #07704
Landing team 16.04.14
Hi,
Running on the finish line to continue improving ubuntu Touch image
quality! Three images were built, and #299 is promoted! Those images
contain two critical bugs fixed in since yesterday! We will surely get
higher than #300 for the (hopefully) next Touch image which will go to a
stable channel. Stay tune and hold your breath (well, not for very long ;))
#298:
- unity8 bug fix for the greeter which didn't unlock when clicking on a
notification for answering a call or a sms.
- dropped click update manager, system-image is the click updater tool now!
- new facebook, gmail and twitter webapps
- multiple ubuntu-keyboard bug fixes
#299:
- don't show keypad screen when calling from address-book or messaging
- fix for activity header not disappearing in webbrowser-app after
navigating to the activity screen
- calendar syncing data bug fixes
- multiple release of calendar, clock, dropping letters, music and
weather application
-> automated tests results showed the same flaky AP tests list (see
below). Dogfooding +1 on that one. It's now the latest and best ubuntu
Touch image ever ;)
#300:
- fix for phone updates crashing when having some disabled u1 account
-> automated test for that version is under way as of now.
* Important bugs to look for:
** Music/Calendar bug (Qt event loop stopping when the device is
suspend) (Kevin)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1292306
-> It wasn't released with latest Mir. Another Mir landing with the fix
is under testing and progress (in a silo).
** New scopes performance needs to be improved (Kevin for unity8 and
Thomas for unity-scopes-shell)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1297197
This explains most of the chopiness and some temporary lagginess we have
seen in the Unity 8 UI past weeks with the new scopes (frames skipped
while scrolling scopes and when switching between scopes).
-> First attempt to fix some of the jankiness is in the incoming unity8
which is going to land in #301.
Thomas' team is going to look at the scope-shell side of it.
** New issue found while dogfooding:
Hyperlinks that request a new tab don't open (David)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/webbrowser-app/+bug/1307735
-> This impact desktop as well as Touch. Investigation are in progress
to get a fix/workaround/potential safe revert and kick an image as soon
as possible. The issue is already in a promoted iamge.
* Issues not impacting on the user experience or whitelisted by QA as
not a promotion blocker:
** qtubuntu crash causing the dialer app to crash (only during tests)
(Bill)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtubuntu/+bug/1297900
-> Boiko has a branch for it which needs to be released once ready.
** Clock flaky test (Julien)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-clock-app/+bug/1307458
-> would be nice for QA to have a look at it, seems upstream won't be
able to fix it soon.
** New dialer-app flaky test (Julien, Bill)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/dialer-app/+bug/1303681
-> another flaky test appeared as well (added to the same bug, Lukasz
analyzed and think it's the same). Upstream thinks it's due to the
dialer-app crashes and are working on it.
* Adding an already mentioned flaky test:
** Autopilot test flakyness in test_add_photo (Julien, Bill)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/gallery-app/+bug/1304950
-> opened last week and stroke back on #297.
* confirmed to be fixed:
** Greeter won't unlock when app raised by url dispatcher is already
focused (Kevin)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1307489, which is
as well https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dialer-app/+bug/1267624
-> Fixed and validated!
Let's get latest fixes in before getting a wonderful image tomorrow!
Meanwhile, enjoy #299!
Cheers,
Didier
