Re: Troubles to parse some rss files

Yay! Will add some bugs to that list. Would be great to see this tool integrated with the sdk at some point.

Hi guys,

Thx to Chris for opening a launchpad project for scopecreator. I fill the bug ticket https://bugs.launchpad.net/scopecreator/+bug/1424289.

I don't how parsers work so it's hard to me to help you to find what kind of string is the root cause. Some feeds are okey... Others not.

If someone give me a clue to check I'll be glad to help

Looks like Chris put the source on Launchpad [1], but the binary
library source code isn't included. Chris, could you provide that
    as well?

Yep, also experienced issues with rss on the scopecreator
tool. In my case I could get images (abc .xml feeds)
intermittently, however other sites, (omgubuntu, arstechnica)
were a no go. Looking forward to seeing this fixed.

            Hi Vincent,

I experienced the same while making a scope using this
            tool [1]. No images
and no body text. I would also be interested in a
            solution/workaround.

                Hi Chris,

Yesterday I had a meeting with a french journalist who
                want to write an
article about the Ubuntuphone, to show him how it's
                look like, how ti use
                it, the scopes, ...

To to illustrate my words, that it is very easy for
                non-tech people to
write a simple scope, I used scopecreator to build a
                scope for his magazine.

Unfortunately, I was unable to display the body of the
                article and the
                photo. Only the title.

But when I look into the rss file :

                view-source:http://www.wedemain.fr/xml/syndication.rss

I see that images exists and body too. So there is a
                bug in the parser I
                think.

I try to take a look on launchpad to open a bug for
                that but I didn't find
where. It would be nice for them to have a scope with
                all the content.

If you need more information, don't hesitate to ask,
                I'll be pleased to
                help you

                Thx in advance
