    I am using Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition Phone.

    The carrier is lost when the screen gets locked after preset timing
    or after there is no activity on the phone. I have to restart the
    phone everytime to get a GSM carrier signal.

    It is for every connection type 2G/3G/4G.

    The carrier selection option is set to automatic and I cannot set it
    to manually either.

    Anyone else calling on the number gets intimation that the phone is
    switched off.

    The idea of having a Ubuntu phone is getting defeated here since the
    phone keeps dropping GSM carrier/signal on its own.

    Any help from the community is highly appreciated
    Regards

Please open a bug in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ofono and
attach more information, like:

* operator and country
* output when executing script "/usr/share/ofono/scripts/list-modems"
(you can do this from the terminal-app or using adb shell)
* and attach /var/log/syslog

Also please attach the output of the command 'system-image-cli -i' run on the phone ( again via adb or the terminal app ).

Have you installed anything other than apps from the store or standard updates?

Do you have decent signal strength in your location? When you lose carrier, if you check the network menu, what does it say for the SIM status?

Finally, if you toggle flight-mode, does that also cause the phone to re-register and become usable again?
