Re: Gyroscope remembers movement and rotates apps when it shouldn't

the current shell rotation has some pretty massive flaws by enforcing
the dash and greeter into portrait regardless of what the physical
rotation actually is. due to that apps are often out of sync and have to
be re-rotated, this discrepancy is IMHO only properly fixable by making
dash and greeter obey to the actual physical rotation so the sensor data
does not have to be overridden (which seems to cause massive performance
issues for apps to pick up the change after they get re-focused again
(i.e. it takes a while til they pick up changed sensor data and adjust
their screen state))

a bug for that is filed at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ux/+bug/1465331

(here only dash re-layouting performance is mentioned though)
