Okay, I've only spent a little time with Calibre.  It seemed like 
a decent book management app, but I don't know how well it works 
for serious use.  I recall it could convert between formats 
pretty easily, at least, and sync with devices.

I generally just organize things with traditional directory 
structures, and copy files to devices with rsync.
