We decided that it doesn't make sense at the moment to complete this work
for full product level use. The library for libspotify that we have access
to is binary-only and has some crashing issues that we aren't able to fix
or work around. We've tried reaching out to Spotify but so far this has
been a dead end. They do have a much better library that gets used by Apple
and Android, but so far they haven't been receptive to us using it.
Personally I'd also like to finish off this work as it's very close to
being fully integrated into media-hub. Thanks for your interest in this
feature - I agree it'd be an amazing addition.
