Re: Dualboot for bq Aquaris E5 (Android + Ubuntu Touch)

I managed to flash Android on the by E5, but not dual boot. There is
no way to dual boot from a bq phone with MultiROM at the moment. Meizu
phones are not supported either. See the description of the PlayStore
item for a list of supported devices.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tassadar.multirommgr

Here is what I did for flashing, for everyone interested, step by step:

1.) Download the Linux flash tool from
https://www.bq.com/en/support/aquaris-e5-ubuntu-edition/support-sheet
2.) Unpack it, run `chmod 755 flash_tool flash_tool.sh`
3.) Download Aquaris E5 HD firmware from
http://www.bq.com/de/support/aquaris-e5/support-sheet
4.) Create folder "2.0.1_20150623-1830_bq-FW", unpack the zip file's
content into it
5.) Shut down the Ubuntu phone
6.) Attach the USB cable to the computer (not the phone yet!)
6.) Start flash tool with `sudo ./flash_tool.sh`
7.) Look up the "Scatter file" from the "2.0.1_20150623-1830_bq-FW" folder
8.) Select "Firmware Upgrade" in the "Download" tab
9.) Press the big "Download" button, then attach the USB cable to the phone
10.) Wait as long as the yellow progress bar advances, then detach the USB cable
11.) Boot the phone - the first boot takes more than 10 minutes!

Let me note down another useful tool for installing Ubuntu images: (no
dual boot here either)

Final comments on my first hours on Android after Ubuntu Touch:

- With Android the bq phone feels so "cheap", a bit childish. It feels
more more valuable with Ubuntu Touch, visually and from the user
experience.
- Yes, you have more options, more apps, more feature, but I feel much
more in danger for both my privacy and what apps do with the phone,
the apps and my data.
- The battery is consumed much faster with Android (there are much
more processes running)

Phone calls on my handset have the same issues as with Ubuntu Touch,
hence it is a hardware failure - my proximity sensor is broken.
