Right. I hate polling on a good day, so I'm all for push notifications.
It's just not really clear to me what the final architecture is going to
look like. I'll follow this list intently as I'm definitely a stakeholder.

Friends already needs some rearchitecting anyway, so I'd like to do this
all in one shot rather than rearchitecting it every cycle.
