Thank you all for the great feedback. @Milo: feel free to reply on
Launchpad if you want. I contacted the list to probe what you guys
thought before coming back to the support request.

I think we more or less think the same: we should let the community open
the teams for the languages they want to spend their time on, but the
ISO code part is quite tricky on this particular case.

I'm not too all in favour of creating a placeholder code in LP,
especially if we don't know if such a code will ever be accepted in glib
(until the ISO itself approves one), which would mean that people could
translate in LP, but never use their translations.

Perhaps we should, as a workaround, ask the original poster talk to the
glib maintainers first, although I'm not sure how receptive they will be
to create an ISO code not yet accepted as standard.
