Strange, it is translated correctly since years:

Maybe related to bug 1078073 somehow... this needs more investigation.

  apt-get in French doesn't recognize "O" for "Oui"

Bug description:
  I used apt-get to download vim. As I set my language preferences to French, apt-get asked me the following question:
  ...
  Après cette opération, 24.9 Mo d'espace disque supplémentaires seront utilisés.
  Souhaitez-vous continuer [O/n] ? O
  Annulation.

  (in English, "do you want to continue?")

  However, it works if I enter "y" (for "yes"):
  ...
  Après cette opération, 24.9 Mo d'espace disque supplémentaires seront utilisés.
  Souhaitez-vous continuer [O/n] ? y
  Réception de :1 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal-updates/main vim-runtime all 2:7.3.547-4ubuntu1.1 [6,317 kB]

  My version of apt-get is:
  $ apt-get --version
