Confirmed on Sony Vaio, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470.

So, is there a final fix for this? I would prefer not to patch something
just to have the proper solution rolled out a couple weeks later.

Or, what is the consensus on this. What is the correct thing to do here? 
Would the development at Ubuntu recommend I wait for an official fix (and use metacity in the meanwhile)
or is the patch described here good to go?
