[Bug 769328] [NEW] Laggy driver?

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

I have this same problem with Ubuntu Natty. The ATI Driver I installed using the "Additional Drivers" menu entry acts strangely. I have a ATI Radeon HD 5850 and a full HD monitor. Im running in highest resolution. With the default driver it only goes up to 1024x800 or something. I want full HD. Now I installed this ATI Driver from the Additional Drivers menu entry. If I want to move windows this happens a bit laggy, like jumping windows. I have another ATI card in my laptop and there it works much smoother.
glxgears work though .. in natty I have the same problem but not even the gears in glxgears rotate.
