[Bug 777539] [NEW] vga1 external output from laptop causes out of of range error on external LCD monitor when only the external output is enabled and LVDS is disabled
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
In 10.10 I could enable only the external vga output from my laptop
disabling the LVDS (LCD attached to the laptop) using gnome-display-
properties. In 11.04, if I try to do this, the LCD attached to the
external vga output reports an OUT OF RANGE error, e.g. it's getting the
wrong modeline or something. I've only tried the native resolution of
the external LCD monitor, 1280x1024 at the two supported refresh rates
of 60Hz and 75Hz and neither work properly. However, if I have both the
LVDS and VGA1 enabled (e.g. , the external monitor), the external
monitor works at the native resolution and at either refresh rates.
