[Bug 812040] [NEW] Screen turns red

Public bug reported:

When moving the mouse pointer to the top left corner of the screen to
activate the Unity launcher, the screen occasionally turns completely
red. Moving the pointer repeatedly back into the top left corner
eventually puts the screen back to normal and I am able to use the
launcher
