[Bug 825887] [NEW] ATI fglrx driver could lock up after several hours or days in Xubuntu alpha.

Public bug reported:

Fglrx driver seems to be unstable in current Xubuntu 11.10 alphas.

Config:
Recent xubuntu 11.10 alpha, 64 bit, 3.0.0-8-generic kernel (all updates from repos were installed).
Fglrx 2:8.872-0ubuntu1 - installed from repos as well.
2 x 5770 AMD video cards in my setup.

Problem:
After several hours or days, mouse could start to move slowly due to graphic driver fault and soon graphic completely stucks. Kernel somewhat responds and I'm able to sync buffers and reboot via alt-sysrq-keys. However, graphic remains completely frozen until I reboot my machine. Even ctrl-alt-Fnn does not works at this point.

Expected:
Driver operates correctly, no issues should occur.

Note: I haven't found any kernel oops or crashes in kernel logs. Only my
own emergency syncs are here.

** Affects: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
