[Bug 433925] [NEW] Karmic livecd wont boot due to graphics card not working with opensource nvidia drivers

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nv

My graphics card ASUS Nvidia 9600GT does not work with the opensource
nvidia drivers, as a result the live CD for Karmic will not boot.

X seems to fail silently so never falls back to the failsafe settings
(and using vesa drivers).

This happening with Karmic Alpha 6 live CD, but also happened with
Jaunty live CD as well. Same thing will happen if try to start X without
an xorg.conf file.

Is there someway to blacklist this card so that X selects the vesa
drivers ?

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-nv (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
