Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

This is my first bug report with keyboard only.

Update 04/03 killed all use of synaptics touchpad on Acer Aspire 3004

Mouse froze at Gdm, couldn't click username to login
Ctrl+Alt+F1 to terminal, login and startx
Ctrl+Alt+T for terminal to connect to internet and reinstall xserver-xorg-input-synaptics, as well as gsynaptics and other touchpad configuration tools.
Only managed to get touchpad to work at Gdm 
After trying everything I could, resorted to filing a bug report.
