[Bug 550410] [NEW] Intel Arrandale Video Corruption (Unusable)

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

I have a Sony Vaio VPCZ1 with an Intel Core i7, Intel Arrandale GMA HD
and nVidia GT330M graphics. I have tried both the Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid
Beta 1 and the latest daily build (3/28, AMD64). When booting with the
nVidia card selected, I get a black screen and a crash. When booting
with the Intel card, I get a visible screen, however it is severely
corrupted and unusable (Please see attached image). In Ubuntu 9.10,
trying to use the Intel card results in a black screen with a few yellow
vertical wavy lines and a hard crash.

If I boot with the "nomodeset" option, the computer will boot properly
but X refuses to load the Intel driver due to lack of KMS. The VESA
driver functions properly albeit at low resolution.

Please let me know if any additional information would be helpful.
