[Bug 578224] [NEW] [ati radeon driver] (regression) poor video decoding performance

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

When watching video files (with Totem, VLC, etc.), the performance is
very poor. It does NOT matter whether compiz effects are on or off. When
they're off, the performance is slightly better but the flickering is
more.

One more thing... if a file is watched in full-screen, the performance
is so poor that the video is lagging behind the sound. The situation is
again slightly better, if the compiz effects are off.

Mobility X1600 in use.

This is very weird because I thought that ver. 6.13 and KMS on will
bring the much anticipated better performance.
