Upgraded from Lucid to Maverick
After update - when logging in the desktop background will show. After a minute it will turn white. Right-click change desktop background results in 100% cpu spike.
Checking system monitor shows Xorg server using 650mb + memory.

In another note (possibly unrelated), my laptop's middle click stopped
working.
