Re: [Question #76349]: Unable to read "all" windows files

Question #76349 on Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/76349

Tom proposed the following answer:
Ok try going up to the top taskbar and click on "Places" and by just
trial and error you should find your Vista 'drive' is one of the
"Removable Media", it will have a handy name such as "80.0 GiB Media"

With the ide to usb cable i bet there's no power-supply going to the ide
drive ;) Is it one of those sparkly silver leads with smart black plugs
at each end? I got one, it's fantastic but you'll probably need to take
the side off your case (when the machine is switched off at the back
too), touch the metal sides of the case (don't cut yourself!) to get rid
of the static on your fingers and then find one of those rectangular
blockish looking 4pin power lead, usually has 2black, 1 red and 1 yellow
leads. Plug the power lead into the drive and the cable, it all looks
very HeathRobinson(ish). Just make sure that none of the cables are
going to get cut up by the fans and keep your fingers out of their path
too when you switch the machine on (with the side still off). On one
machine i managed to poke an appropriate power lead out the back of the
machine through the slots that graphics cards and stuff normally use :)

Good luck and take care!
Regards from
Tom :)
