[Question #76923]: AOC 1619SW LCD monitor resolution can't be maximized

New question #76923 on firefox-3.0 in ubuntu:

AOC 1619SW LCD monitor resolution is limited to 800x600 and 640x480 while the monitor's resolution should be 1366x768.  Ubuntu version is 9.04.  Pls. advise as how to increase the monitors resolution to that of the true resolution of the said model.
