Ok, so if you've managed to boot into Ubuntu either way then please go
up to the top taskbar and click on
Applications - Accessories - Terminal
and into the terminal/command window/console type
sudo fdisk -l
and paste the results into here.
Alternatively if you can boot up from the LiveCd/Dvd then please go up to the top taskbar and click on
System - Administration - Partition Editor
and then give us the information in the bottom pane, the text one rather
than the picture ;) heheheh. Note that GPartEd is very powerful so
don't click on "Apply", just post the info to us here and then close it.
