Tom proposed the following answer:
If you type in

cd /media
ls

note the "ls" is a lower-case "LS" can you see the folder called
"windows"?  Hopefully you will see folders called "sda5" and "sdb1".
Note that the old Dos command "dir" also does much the same as "ls" but
"ls" is colour coded so you can tell the difference between files and
folders - even if you didn't already know which was which by experience
