actionparsnip proposed the following answer:
do you by any chance have a new kernel installed? If you boot to an
older kernel does it work? Sounds like you have unnecessarily upgraded
your kernel and booted to it, the driver may not be installed for this
new kernel. You can either
1) boot to the kernel which it worked and remove or ignore the newer kernel (recommended)
2) continue with the new kernel and reconfigure drivers for it
