[Question #79265]: create a partition

New question #79265 on Ubuntu:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/79265

I have a new 320GB computer Acer desktop with Windows Vista installed. System check shows 2 140 GB drives with "Acer" Installed on the C drive. F drive is empty. I want to install Hardy Heron 8.04.3 on the F drive, leaving the C drive to Windows.
Downloaded 8.04.3, burned it to a CD, and am trying to install it to the F drive. but the installation series does not give me that option. It wants to partition the C drive and put Ubuntu on it next to Windows, leaving Windows no slack.

I think it asks me where I want it but it does so in some kind of code that I don't understand. (Guided-resize SCS12 (0,0,0), partition #3 (sd2) and use freed space) I have no idea what that means or what to do with it.

How do I put it on the F drive when the installation sequence windows don't offer me the option???

Thanks

JJ
