ok, so it's trying to connect to the system-wide couchdb, which is not
running ('/etc/init.d/couchdb start' to start it). Although it should
really be connecting to desktopcouch, so did you create the addressbook
by hand? If so, right-click on the 'Ubuntu One' addressbook and select
'Properties', and on the dialog that shows up, select 'Desktop CouchDB'
radio item on the 'Server' section.

After that, try connecting again, and if it still doesn't work, run
e-d-s on the terminal as before and send me the output, please
