Yes i meant the launcher itself [ :) sorry i wasnt clear enough and
confused u all ]
I envision a right click on the panel would give me a dialog box which
enables all the various customisations necessary.
there you have a option to select panels(adjustable width) on right/below
so we dont put it binding on the user hence we give them more flexibility.
So we can disable laucnhers/panels/or only single
small text demo of both volume, zoom slider, media btns on say... left

This mean this can serve as a utility replacement(nothing too flashy) to
docking apps
while keeping the integrity of unity
So if u fancy docks as before then you can disable it in the settings
and manage some more eyecandy using dock apps like awn, docky, etc.
I agree when u say more mouse run but in the long run it means lesser clicks
it also means u have some things which are available to u directly
hence recuding the overall time u spend to click and view things which in
turn increases usability
If overdone to the level of eyecandiness of docking apps(say like high
quality icons with lots of colours, with popping/zoom effects)
it could also make unity bit bulky
Having said that
1) is it possible to include a preview as soon as u hover over running
applications seen on launcher
something akin to opera tab preview or windows 7 preview?
2) is there any animations in offing for alt + tab for cycling between
windows as it was seen before in gnome?
