is always visible now.
And any hover action would/should only be triggered if launcher is fully visible (even when in auto hide mode) and then it takes a second or 2 for the hover action to display at a specific (or your desire) spot/app.

i use win7 at work and i dont find a problem with the thumbnails, in fact they help because is the basic way of selecting the desired window. What do you use to select a specific window if you dont like the thumnails/previews ?
Anyway my suggestion of adding a list of open windows to the quicklist is by right clicking so i assume they wont interfere with your work.

The same way you accidentally trigger the Launcher. For example you are reading something on screen and the mouse is in the way so you (without thinking) move the mouse off to the left to get it out of the way and because the mouse lands on top of the launcher, Thumbnail previews start popping up.
I do accidentally trigger the tooltips, all the time. Be nice to be able to disable Launcher tooltips. They aren't needed once familiarity sets in. But I can certainly see how they are needed on new installs in general.
In general, things popping up on the desktop is a big distraction to work. I find the thumbnail popups distracting when using windows 7. I can only assume it would present the same problem on ubuntu.

I think a list of open windows could be added to the quicklist. Is simple and would come in handy.
And since they keep their order, is predictable.
I also dont see how you would "accidentally" trigger things on the left side if the launcher is *always visible*. Even in firefox the back button is all the way at the top and you can see exactly where the launcher is... I dont even accidently trigger the tooltips...

>>>2) Not able to jump strata to the app or document you are working on
I cannot stand those dang thumbnail popups that occur on Windows 7. I do not think this will be an improvement to the situation, especially considering the ease with which they can unintentionally be triggered due to the Launcher being on the left edge of the screen (and not the bottom of the screen like Windows 7).
