The question should probably be "why yes?". The fact that other distros do
it doesn't mean that we should blindly follow and if it's consistency
across platforms that we are aiming, I am sure there are more important
features that would benefit from it. :)

But because we are a bit speculating here on how much this feature is
relevant, if data will show otherwise we should consider to make it more
accessible.
