space isn't the issue. i've got a 23" monitor and i have icon size set to
it's minimum so i'm good there.
also, a graphics tablet is a bit different from a touch device. what i'm
talking about is something like this http://gdgt.com/wacom/intuos3/6x8/
with a graphics tablet you can still move the pointer without touching the
tip of the stylus to the tablet surface since the tablet detects the stylus
tip a small (but not uncomfortably difficult small) distance away from the
drawing surface. when you touch the tip of the stylus it counts as a left
click of the mouse with the added benefit of also tracking the pressure
used.
i was hoping someone would have better ideas than the ones i didn't mention
since they either revoke recently added functionality or just suck if
there's a line of buttons along the left edge of the screen.
also it seems that my mouse doesn't just fidget around the same few pixels
... it just moves very very very slowly and in the wrong direction.
