What is the use if those controls if it isn't opened?Using the controls in the menu will automatically start the program. This again goes towards Unity's goal of not making the user care about whether an app is open or not. If you want to play music, just press Play and it'll play. Michael Hall mhall119@xxxxxxxxxx
Just to be clear on the intended functionality.Currently only the default player (Rhythmbox in the case of 12.04) will always show it's playback control. Hence why it looks a bit odd in the initial screenshot because Banshee is running and Rhythmbox is not. Pressing on the play command of the default player only should launch the player and start it playing while pressing on the title should just launch the player.
