[Bug 490023] [NEW] vm: 8bit characters are not escaped in In-reply-to field

 

Public bug reported:

When I reply to an email from someone with an 8-bit character in their name, such as 
  "=?iso-8859-1?Q?V=EDctor_Paesa?=" <xxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

The In-reply-to field gets the un-escaped name:
  In-Reply-To: message from Víctor Paesa on Sunday July 15

And a number of mail systems reject the email as 8bit characters in
headers are illegal.
