We will put stuff into the trunk for now.  When we are ready to to for
a release, we will merge it back to 8.1.x.  

I am open to the possibility that we might need to do some quick fixes
on 8.1.0 after it goes downstrea, and that might warrant an 8.1.1 as a
bug fix release.
