ok, after some IRC discussion we concluded that:

- author of wild-magic has made wm4 LGPL and abadoned it, so
- we better make a switch.

An examination of our options, revealed that http://vtk.org is the
best choice. We shall make a switch once I defend my PhD. So that
should be in around two months.

Unless some better option pops out in march.
