At least in Dem3DofGeom, the choice is on type of simulation (small x large strains). refLength is probably faster, but not usable in large strains..

Damn, large strains... When I recommended current branch for good, I wasthinking to Cauchy stress (no effect of strain, defining a staticquantity on current configuration). For anything else, I don't know.
