For different friction angle such as 5 deg and 30 deg for instance, yes
you should expect a change.
I don't know why you don't find a change. But first, before looking for
a problem in the definition of your simulation, the porosity in sphere
assemblies cannot change a lot, thus what is the change of porosity you
obtained ? (I imagine you don't find very exactly the same porosity,
even if you say that porosity doesn't modify).
