Re: Feature discussion: Tags behaving like links

Hi,

I think that’s possible (my first draft was working in a similar way by just marking one letter). The issue I have is that if you have more than one tag in the line, I have to sort out which is the right tag.

I prefer keyboard as well. For the time being you could give this a try: CTRL+SHIFT+Arrow key. This combination marks the whole word, exactly the same way as if you double click. As mentioned,
you don’t need to include the @ for the selection.

Murat

Hi again,
Thank you for that quick update. It works really well!

Is there any chance the whole word where the cursor is located could be considered when starting the plugin? I personally prefer to navigate using the keyboard mainly. Perhaps there is already support for word selection in the core?

Joel

Hi Joel,

thank you for letting me know. It was quite a stupid bug ;) PSA a new version which works if you start the plugin with or without selecting a tag.

I find it quite convenient to double click on the tag I want to look up. This usually marks the whole tag. Then pressing SHIFT+ALT+Q brings up the plugin with the tag already looked up.

Just FYI. The plugin is also available via search menu and task bar.

Murat

Hi Murat,

Thank you for taking time implementing this.

After having installed and activated the plugin I get an error (see attached text file) when pressing Shift+Alt+Q.

Joel

Hi Joel,

I found it quite easy to implement this feature into my plugin.

So when you select the tag (selection with or without @) and start the plugin (SHIFT+ALT+Q) it will
lookup all pages with this tag. When the tag was not selected properly, you need to correct it manually.
Will see if this can be handled programmatically.

Let me know what you think.

Murat

Hi,

nice idea. I think I could add this feature to the „Searched tagged pages“ plugin. You might want to give this plugin a try already ;)

Murat

Hi,
I often find myself wanting to see other pages that have been tagged with a tag on the page I am currently viewing. Now I have to manually open the "Tags" pane and try and find the particular tag myself. It would be really nice to be able to just click the tag (or use Ctrl+Enter) as if it was a link and automatically end up in the "Tags" pane with the clicked tag selected.
Does this seem like a common use-case to you? What would it take to implement? What potential issues are there?
Regards,
Joel
