Re: Asus ul30 vt running ubuntu 10.10 meerkat

Hello again,

I got no response but I pinpointed better my problem, which still persists.
To make a long story short I:

1. Black listed the nouveau module because it interferes with turning off
the nvidia card.

2. Inserted the module to turn off the card, something that worked
seamlessly with previous kernels.

The system then randomly hangs on boot with a lot of error messages of the
sort:

hda-intel: spurious response 0x0:0x0, last cmd=0x14f0d00

This was replicated after a clean install. I then either have no sound or
the system starts lagging considerably after a couple of minutes of any
sound output, which only happens on battery power. If I play no sound, the
system performs ok.

System: ubuntu 10.10, kernel 2.6.35-22

Help...

Cheers,

Dinis
