Re: Fwd: Problem installing Ubuntu 10.10

A suggestion I made in a direct email but may be worth sharing is to use an installation
on an external drive. I have an old "40G" laptop drive I put in a cheap USB case and have
Ubunutu 10.04, Kubuntu 10.10 and Linux Mint Debian in 3 partitions on it. I find I can
usually boot on machines other than the one used for installation. So install on one where
there isn't a problem, then try on the UL31. This at least verifies whether it is a distro
or an installation issue. I hope not the former, but have had install problems myself with
Ubuntu on one of my machines. In fact, the one the external drive is usually attached to.
