It seems to me that one should identify problems that have to be addressed in 
translations.

One need is a *technical* dictionary.  Of course, one can translate the word 
Launchpad and the word Bazaar, and so on.  However, how can we ensure a degree 
of consistency between different translators?  

An English - other languages dictionary on a wiki could get the ball rolling.  
It is my contention that the dictionary should not be left to language 
specialists.  It is the technical, rather than literary accuracy that is 
important.  Personally, I would find it useful if we had an English - Other 
dictionary started, preferably with a selection of some related languages  in 
the Other.   Surely, Other==Spanish would be useful for Other==Italian, and 
vice versa.

As a reader of several European languages, I can see an immediate benefit from 
dictionary in other languages than my intended translation language of 
Lithuanian.  

Why not start with the tools, before starting the "manufacture"?  Why not make 
immediate use of tools for tool-making, such as a wiki?
