[Bug 488320] [NEW] dual-head monitor layout changes leave part of the screen unusable
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: compiz
Steps to reproduce:
1. get a laptop win 1280x800 LCD and VGA out, and a 1280x1024 LCD monitor (other resolutions may also work, but this is what I have)
2. plug in monitor
3. open display settings applet, enable 1024x800 + 1280x1024 side-by-side
3. rotate the LCD to 1024x1280, keeping the tops of the monitors aligned
4. apply the configuration
5. go back to display settings, drag the internal screen to align the bottoms of the monitors
6. apply the configuration
Expected results:
you have two screens side by side
Actual results:
the topmost half of the internal lcd is fine and shows the upper panel; the bottommost half of the internal lcd is black, with the bottom panel and every other window residing in it being invisible.
