[Bug 588151] [NEW] Compiz settings gets reset with every restart
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: compiz
I'm using Lucid and every time after I reboot my laptop, my compiz
settings seem to reset. I'll have to then re-configure my effects.
This is what I do when I login every time:
1. Goto System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Visual Effects [by this time, I wont have any title bar for open windows]
2. Effects will be defaulted to 'None', I'll change that to 'Normal' or 'Extras'. I'll get a message that Ubuntu is searching for available drivers [actually, it shouldn't].
3. The screen flickers and I'll get a popup saying if I want to Use Previous Settings or Keep current settings. I'll opt for using the previous settings which gets me back to 'Normal' but this time with title bars.
4. I'll then set the Effects to 'Extras' & close.
5. Go to System -> Preferences -> CompizConfig Settings Manager & choose my usual effects & close.
Though this workaround is fine for me, it takes 2 -3 minutes to set this
up every time I login. Would be nice if the reason for this is found and
fixed.
Cheers,
Jeeva
