Re: 3rd party app ppa
You may have better luck just having the AppStore register the developer's
PPA or Repository. Then implementing a pay wall; after the user pays the
ppa is added and app is downloaded. Then you could offer the developer an
ability to check license/purchases through a library. Then developers would
just submit their App and PPA through an online portal. You wouldn't have
to find the PPA's the developers would add their own. Then you server would
record package numbers and the AppStore would check for updates on a cron.
Flow Of Purchase:
1. User Finds App.
2. User Pays for App.
3. PPA Is added and App is installed.
4. App is ran user is checked and a certification is made for that machine.
So the user can use offline.
Personally, for an AppStore I'd just abandon PPA's all together. They don't
fit into an AppStore nicely.
