I've been experimenting with use of "due:now" for stuff that is urgent.
I use due dates pretty sparingly, so this helps me organize items which
are the top priorities.

So, in other words the data fields would be enabled in the data model
itself, but the UI for interacting with them be left out, perhaps added
through use of a plugin or some such?
