[Bug 567079] Re: Better direct contributors to translating the application or reporting bugs

>From your link: "Note that this only works for Ubuntu packages available in the repositories. The Launchpad integration library does not work with PPAs or other projects hosted in Launchpad."
We are an ubuntu package but we are not in the "main" repository. Why are you mentioning main?

Anyway, I'm neutral on this, since a lot of our users do not use ubuntu (or even linux). Perhaps it should be a patch in the ubuntu package.
Developers, what do you think?

ps: David, thanks for the various suggestions!

Bug description:
Here is a suggestion to use the Launchpad integration library (LPI) or a similar method to show additional entries in the Help menu, so that potential contributors can be directed to translating the application, reporting bugs and getting online help.

Here is more information on the Launchpad Integration library and what it does:

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/Internationalisation/RecipeAddingLPI

Note the notice on this method only working with Ubuntu source packages in main. This means that the LPI cannot be used directly on projects. For an example of a project using a similar aproach, see the upstream gwibber project at https://code.launchpad.net/gwibber
