Re: battery drain rate always 0

Same with HP Pavilion dv3-4070ss (i5 450; Intel/Ati 5450)
Tried with some kernel up to 2.6.38-rc3 with no luck in battery rate.

What can one do in order to see the rate the battery is drained if it always shows 0?
I have Ubuntu 10.10 - HP Pavilion dm4t-1100 (i5 460; Intel/Ati 5470)

For example:
$ acpi -i
Battery 0: Discharging, 99%, discharging at zero rate - will never fully discharge.
Battery 0: design capacity 4944 mAh, last full capacity 4944 mAh = 100%

The only way I can see if the rate has changed if I look at the graph after 15 minutes in the battery panel indicator and the angle of the line showing the current charge will change. But this is too long time to wait for doing experiments.

$ cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state
present:                 yes
capacity state:          ok
charging state:          discharging
present rate:            0 mA
remaining capacity:      4690 mAh
present voltage:         12074 mV

$ cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info
present:                 yes
design capacity:         4944 mAh
last full capacity:      4944 mAh
battery technology:      rechargeable
design voltage:          10800 mV
design capacity warning: 500 mAh
design capacity low:     100 mAh
cycle count:          0
capacity granularity 1:  100 mAh
capacity granularity 2:  100 mAh
