I use Slackware 13.37 on a Dell Vostro 3500 with a Nvidia Geforce 310M
and an Intel integrated video controller. Everything is running fine
using bumblebee in my laptop.
Now the problem: I have to use vmd
(http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/) via a ssh connection, of course
in an optirun "environment" because I want to use the Nvidia board. I
tried:

- - "optirun bash", "ssh name@xxxxxxxxxx", then vmd ==> vmd works, but
the Intel card is used.

- - "optirun bash", "DISPLAY=:8", "export DISPLAY", "xauth add :8 .
`mcookie`", "ssh name@xxxxxxxxxx", then vmd ==> vmd starts, things
seem to work well (output at the end of the message), but nothing is
displayed. I thought it would be sufficient to force the display 8,
used by bumblebee, but I wasn't lucky. Then i tried using gnuplot
(a program to plot data): it doesn't complain, but nothing is
displayed, again. Of course, gnuplot works well via ssh if I don't use
optirun.

Any ideas? Need more information?
